Cecily Corti, chairwoman of the Vincentian Community of St. Stephen, co-founded VinziRast in Vienna-Meidling in 2004 and managed it until 2018. This facility is a 48-bed emergency shelter, providing overnight accommodation for people who do not meet the admission criteria of other institutions. The VinziRast-CortiHaus opened in 2008; donations from the construction industry enabled the construction of 16 apartments. In 2010, a shared apartment for homeless alcoholics was also opened. The VinziRast-MITTENDRIN project has been in operation since 2011 (operations began in May 2013). Cecily Corti has received numerous awards for her commitment, including the Golden Decoration of Merit for Services to the Republic of Austria and the appointment of Chevalier dans l''Ordre de la Légion d''Honneur.
