Nadja Lorenz (Austria)

Nadja Lorenz was born in 1961 in Darmstadt, Germany. At the age of nine she moved with her family to Vienna. She studied law and in 1992 she began working at the Prader law office.

Since 198 she has worked as an independent lawyer in Vienna. She was one of the substitute members of the human rights council, as well as a member of the network of lawyers for refugees seeking asylum. She typically practices criminal law and family law, in addition to helping refugees, foreigners and handling cases involving police misconduct. Since 2004 Nadja Lorenz has been the chairperson of the organization SOS Mitmensch. She was awarded the Bruno Kreisky Prize for her work with refugees and migrants in Austria.
